On 5 April 2019, we had a visit from ABUS Kransysteme GmbH. The company’s construction mechanics trainees came to meet the manufacturer of the welding machines they use.
The day started with a round of introductions, where the ABUS trainees and EWM had a chance to get to know each other.
Then, the construction mechanics trainees were divided into groups to rotate through a number of different stations.
Each of the groups received a tour of Plant 2b, followed by soldering of a BlinkyDu.
Afterwards, our EWM trainees presented their own trainee projects. Additionally, Florian Bierbrauer explained how to administer “first aid” on welding machines.
In Plant 1, the trainees were given a chance to try their hand at welding, both virtually with Soldamatic and the real thing with TIG and MIG/MAG. In the robotics hall, the groups observed the automated welding process.
We look forward to the next visit from ABUS!
