2. Collection of personal data during the use of our website
Personal data is defined as information which can be used to identify a natural person. Personal data includes, for example, a person’s name and e-mail address as well as information regarding user and/or surf behaviour on our website or relating to our web offerings. If you only use the website or our web offerings via your browser or your mobile end device for information purposes, i.e. if you do not use this communication channel to initiate/establish business relations or relay information to us in any other form, we do not collect any personal data, with the exception of the data sent by your browser or your mobile end device so as to enable you to use our website or our web offerings (so-called logfiles, legal basis: Art. 6 (1) 1 f) GDPR). Logfiles are required by us technically in order for the website accessed by you to be sent to your browser or your mobile end device and displayed accordingly. Logfiles are also used for the purpose of statistical analysis and in order to improve the website and web offerings (legal basis: Art. 6 (1) 1 f) GDPR) in order to identify any potential errors on the website or in the web offerings and also detect erroneous links.
The logfiles contain the following data:
• IP address
• Content, date and time of request
• Your device identification, i.e. the unique number of your end device
• The time zone of the requesting computer or mobile end device
• The time zone difference from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), where applicable
• The content of the request (specific page)
• Access status/HTTP status code
• Data volume transferred
• The website from which the request came
• The browser and browser ID/identifier
• The operating system and its interface
• The language and version of the browser software
One of the items of data recorded in connection with use of the website is the IP address of the computer used. The user of the website can potentially be identified via the IP address. However, EWM AG does not conduct an analysis of the IP addresses for this purpose. IP addresses are only analysed in anonymous form for statistical purposes.
Processing of this data is carried out for the following purposes:
• to ensure a connection is established smoothly and swiftly with the website and web offerings
• to display our products and services
• to ensure our website and web offerings are user-friendly
• to assess system security and stability
• for other administrative purposes
The legal basis for this processing of your personal data is Art. 6 1(1) 1 f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest derives from the above purposes of data collection.
3. Data processing during and for the purpose of establishing contact
In addition to the use of our website and our web offerings for information purposes, we offer various services of which you can avail yourself if you wish. In order to use these services, you generally have to submit additional personal data which we use in order to provide the service in question. If it is possible to submit additional details on a voluntary basis, these will be designated accordingly.
4. Data security/encryption
In order to protect your data during transmission, we use the latest encryption technology (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS. We also apply suitable technical and organisational measures to protect saved personal data from manipulation, loss, destruction and unauthorised third-party access. Our security measures are reviewed, improved and extended on an ongoing basis in line with technological developments.
5. Contact form/e-mail enquiries
Our website or web offerings enable users to get in contact with EWM AG, its branches or departments by means of a form. In order to use the form, it is necessary to enter a valid e-mail address along with your first and last name and your message. Any other information (e.g. telephone number) is submitted voluntarily. If it is possible to submit additional details on a voluntary basis, these will be designated accordingly. In addition to the contact form, we also offer the possibility of contact via e-mail. If you get in touch with us by e-mail or using the contact form, the information you submit is saved for the purpose of processing the enquiry and forwarding within EWM AG as well as for potential follow-up questions. Processing of this data is carried out for the purpose of making contact with us and is carried out according to Art. 6 (1) 1 a) GDPR based on you giving your consent voluntarily.
6. Newsletter
In order to register users for our newsletter effectively, we require a valid e-mail address.. During the registration process, we protocol the newsletter request, the sending of a confirmation e-mail and the receipt of the response requested by the latter. No further data is collected. The data is used solely for the purpose of sending out the newsletter and is not shared with third parties. In order to verify that registration really did originate from the owner of the e-mail address entered, we use the “double opt-in” method. When you have registered for the newsletter, a confirmation e-mail is sent to the e-mail address that was entered. We then require your confirmation that the newsletter is to be sent to you in future. If you confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter, we save your e-mail address until you cancel your newsletter subscription. The saving of this data serves the sole purpose of being able to send you the newsletter (legal basis: Art. 6 (1) 1 a) GDPR). In addition, we save the IP addresses used by you at registration and confirmation and also the times at which these procedures were carried out so that we have evidence of your registration and can trace any misuse of your personal data if necessary (legal basis: Art. 6 (1) 1 a) and c), Art 7 (1) GDPR). This data is deleted unless a review carried out at the end of every third calendar year, starting with the calendar year in which the data was first saved, shows that it is necessary to save the data for longer.
When you register to receive our newsletter, the data you submit is used solely for this purpose. Newsletter subscribers may also be informed by e-mail of matters that are relevant to the newsletter service or to registration (e.g. changes to the newsletter service or technical issues).
You can withdraw your consent to us saving and using your personal data for the purpose of sending out the newsletter at any time. A link is provided for this purpose in every newsletter. You can also unsubscribe directly on this website at any time or notify us accordingly using the contact provided at the end of this data privacy policy.
7. Careers page
Visitors to our website can use the relevant page to find out about job vacancies posted by EWM AG. The job postings contain contact and application details for sending in applications by e-mail. No personal data is collected, saved, processed or sent to EWM AG or its HR department via the website as part of the application process. Any data (application documents) e-mailed to EWM AG by the user may be transmitted to EWM AG via an unencrypted connection. When EWM AG receives the user’s data, this data is used solely for the purpose of handling the application procedure in question. The data is automatically deleted by EWM AG six months after termination of the application procedure, unless the user has given their consent to the data being saved for longer.
8. Registration for the restricted area of our website
It is not possible for website visitors to register for the restricted area of our website themselves. Access data for the restricted area is generated by EWM AG and sent to the registered business partner. Registration and activation are carried out as part of a contractual business relationship. When registering to use our personalised services, certain items of personal data are collected such as name and address, along with contact and communication details such as telephone number and e-mail address. If you are registered with us, you can access content and services that are only available to registered users. Registered users can also alter or delete the data submitted on registration whenever they wish. At any time we can of course provide you with details of the personal data relating to you which we have saved. We will be glad to correct or delete this data should you wish so, insofar as it is not subject to statutory retention requirements. If you wish to contact us in this context, please use the contact details provided at the end of this data privacy policy.
9. Provision of fee-based services
In order to provide fee-based services, we request additional data such as payment details.
10. Deletion or blocking of data
We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. For this reason, we only save your personal data for as long as this is necessary for the purposes listed here or as is required by the various retention periods specified by the legislative authorities. Once the purpose in question ceases to apply or these retention periods have expired, the data in question is deleted or blocked as a matter of routine and in accordance with statutory requirements.
11. Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses so-called cookies, i.e. text files which are saved on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analysed. The legal basis is Art. 49 (1) a GDPR (“Consent after previous disclosure of risks”). The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is usually sent to a Google server in the U.S. and saved there. Since IP anonymisation is active on these web pages, however, Google first shortens your IP address within member states of the European Union and in other contractual states of the Treaty on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the U.S. and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports about website activities and provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet usage. The IP address sent by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not combined with other data held by Google.
You can prevent cookies from being saved by making appropriate settings in your browser software. However, please note that if you do so, you may be unable to use the full range of functions offered by this website. You can also prevent acquisition by Google of the data generated by the cookie that relates to your use of the website (including your IP address) and prevent the processing of that data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: Browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics. Cases in which personal data are transferred to the USA are considered data transfers to a third country without adequate guarantees of data protection according to Art. 49 GDPR.
In addition or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can suppress tracking by Google Analytics on our web pages by clicking on the following link. This causes an opt-out cookie to be installed on your device. As a result, Google Analytics is prevented from tracking your use of this website from this browser, as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.
12. Use of Google Maps
This website uses Google Maps API in order to show geographical information in visual form. The legal basis is Art. 49 (1) a GDPR (“Consent after previous disclosure of risks”). When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data relating to the visitor’s use of the map functions. For more detailed information about data processing by Google, please refer to the Google data privacy policy (http://www.google.com/privacypolicy.html). Google also processes your personal data in the USA. Cases in which personal data are transferred to the USA are considered data transfers to a third country without adequate guarantees of data protection according to Art. 49 GDPR.
See here (http://www.dataliberation.org/)for detailed instructions as to how to manage your personal data in connection with Google products.
13. Embedded YouTube videos
We have embedded YouTube videos on some of our web pages. The operator of the relevant plug-in is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. If you visit a page with a YouTube plug-in, a connection is established with YouTube servers. When this happens, YouTube is informed of which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can attribute your surf behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
When a YouTube video is played, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behaviour.
If cookies are deactivated for the Google Ad programme, they will not be used when viewing YouTube videos. However, YouTube also uses other cookies to save information that is not related to individual use. If you wish to prevent this, you must disable cookies in the browser. The legal basis is Art. 49 (1) a GDPR (“Consent after previous disclosure of risks”).
For further information on data privacy in connection with “YouTube”, please refer to the provider’s data privacy policy at : https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

14. External links
For your information, our web pages and web offerings also contain references and links to third-party websites. If it is not obvious that a link is external, we draw the user’s attention to this fact. When you leave our website or web offerings, we recommend that you first read the data privacy policy of every website carefully and/or contact the third-party provider directly. We do not have any access to cookies or other functions used by third-party websites, neither is EWM AG able to monitor these. Such third-party websites are not subject to the EWM AG data privacy provisions.
15. Your rights to information, correction, blocking, deletion and objection
You have the right to receive details of the personal data saved by us about you at any time. You also have the right to have your personal data corrected, blocked and deleted, unless saving it is mandatory for the purpose of handling business transactions. You can make changes or withdraw your consent for the future by notifying us accordingly.
16. Changes to our data privacy provisions
We reserve the right to adapt this data privacy policy from time to time or as is necessary (e.g. to comply with statutory provisions) so that it is always in line with current legal requirements or in order to ensure that the data privacy policy reflects changes in our services, e.g. if we introduce new web offerings and/or services.
