The biggest attraction at the Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2019 in Stuttgart was the topic of automation. Visitors at the EWM booth were particularly interested in the forward-looking robot applications for industry and trades.
From robot cells to co-bots – EWM AG used the trade fair to highlight its competence in the automation of welding technology. Apart from the co-bot solution for stud welding, which so far is virtually the only one on the market, visitors were excited by the compact robot cells and robot teams. The team solution features two industrial robots that work together. While the handling robot grasps and feeds a component, a second robot performs welding tasks. The handling robot then deposits the component down at a defined position.
In addition to the co-bot solution, the new acArc puls XQ welding process was met with keen interest. Find out more about that process from Stanislav Wiens, Acting Digital Welding Solutions Manager, who was interviewed on the subject by METAL WORKS TV and explained the unique aspects of the process in a video:
The two trade fairs Blechexpo and Schweisstec offer a combination of the two focus topics sheet metal processing (Blechexpo) and joining technology (Schweisstec) that is unique in the world.
A special eye-catcher at the booth was the three-metre steel giant – the perfect backdrop for a selfie.
